Tribal Belly Dance is a much more earthy, slower, snake like form of dance, danced within a group called a troupe with combinations of movements very different to that of your normal Cabaret belly dance style.
In Tribal Belly Dnace you learn to work as a team and do a lot of improvisational pieces within your choreography of your troupe allowing each troupe member to lead or have a solo improvisational piece.
It is important to understand what you are doing as you will form a uniformed synchronization with your fellow troupe members.
Although Tribal Belly Dance is slower than Cabaret Belly Dance, the movements associated with Tribal still work up a great sweat and have fitness advantages to it as well.
Because Tribal Belly Dance is a complete new style on its own, the foundations of Tribal are important yet simple to learn also bearing in mind that the only way to perfect any dance form is to practice what you learn in class at home.
